Overview - What This Is All About

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But we've worked hard to make this one clear and honest. At Valor Nexus Architecture, we're committed to protecting your personal information the same way we protect our project blueprints.

This policy applies to all information collected through our website, email communications, and any interactions you have with our team. We're based in Toronto, Ontario, and we comply with Canadian privacy laws including PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).

If you're reaching out about a project, submitting an inquiry, or just browsing our portfolio, this policy covers how we handle your data. No fine print tricks, no dodgy practices - just transparent info about what we do and why.

We collect different types of info depending on how you interact with us. Here's the breakdown:

Contact Information
  • Your name, email address, phone number when you reach out to us
  • Company name and title if you're representing an organization
  • Mailing address if needed for project consultations
Project-Related Details
  • Budget range and timeline for proposed projects
  • Property information including location and size
  • Design preferences and sustainability goals
  • Any photos or documents you share with us
Technical Data
  • IP address and browser type (standard web stuff)
  • Pages you visit and time spent on our site
  • Device information - whether you're on mobile or desktop
  • Referral sources so we know how you found us

We're not gonna sell your email to some random marketing company or spam you with junk. Here's what we actually do with your info:

Project Communication

Responding to inquiries, scheduling consultations, and keeping you updated on your project's progress.

Service Delivery

Actually doing the work you hired us for - creating designs, managing construction, and delivering results.

Website Improvement

Analyzing how people use our site so we can make it better and more useful.

Legal Requirements

Complying with Canadian laws, regulations, and professional standards we're bound by.

Occasionally, we might send you project updates or relevant industry insights, but only if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe anytime - we won't take it personally.

Yeah, we use cookies - but not the chocolate chip kind. These are tiny files that help our website function properly and remember your preferences.

Types of Cookies We Use:
  • Essential Cookies: These keep the site running. Can't really turn these off without breaking things.
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand which pages people visit most and where they're getting stuck.
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings like language preferences or previously viewed projects.
  • Marketing Cookies: Track whether you came from an ad so we know what's working (and what's not).

Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can block them entirely, though that might make some features wonky. Check your browser's help section for instructions.

We don't use cookies to track you across other websites. What happens on our site stays on our site.

We're pretty protective of your info, but there are times when we need to share it with others. Here's who might see your data and why:

Service Providers

We work with trusted companies that help us run our business - hosting providers, email services, project management tools, that sort of thing. They're contractually obligated to keep your info secure and can't use it for their own purposes.

Project Collaborators

Sometimes we team up with engineers, contractors, or consultants on projects. We'll only share what's necessary for them to do their part, and only with your knowledge.

Legal Situations

If we're legally required to (like by a court order), we'll disclose information. We'll try to notify you first unless we're prohibited from doing so.

We will never: Sell your personal information to third parties, rent your email list, or share your project details publicly without explicit permission.

We take security seriously - probably more than we should admit in casual conversation. Here's what we do to keep your data safe:

Encryption

All data transmission uses SSL/TLS encryption. Your info is scrambled in transit.

Secure Storage

Data stored on protected servers with regular backups and access controls.

Limited Access

Only team members who need access for their work can see your information.

That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach that affects your data, we'll let you know ASAP and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.

Under Canadian privacy law, you've got rights when it comes to your personal information. Here's what you can do:

Access Your Data

Request a copy of the personal information we have about you. We'll provide it within 30 days.

Correct Information

If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.

Delete Your Data

Request deletion of your personal information (unless we need it for legal or contractual reasons).

Opt-Out

Unsubscribe from marketing emails or ask us to stop processing your data for certain purposes.

Data Portability

Get your data in a format that you can take to another service provider.

To exercise any of these rights, just email us at info@valornexus.info or call (416) 555-0147. We'll verify your identity and get back to you promptly.

Data Retention - How Long We Keep Things

We don't keep your information forever. Here's our general approach:

  • Active Projects: We keep all project-related data throughout the duration of our engagement and for 7 years after completion (standard practice for architectural records).
  • Inquiries: If you reached out but didn't move forward with a project, we'll keep your contact info for up to 2 years in case you change your mind.
  • Marketing Data: If you're on our mailing list, we'll keep that until you unsubscribe.
  • Website Analytics: Typically stored for 26 months, then automatically deleted.

After these periods, we securely delete or anonymize your information unless there's a legal reason to keep it longer.

International Data Transfers

We're based in Canada, and most of our data stays here. However, some of our service providers might store data on servers in other countries (mainly the US). When this happens, we make sure they follow privacy standards comparable to Canadian laws.

If you're outside Canada and use our services, your information might be transferred to and processed in Canada. By using our site, you're agreeing to this transfer.

Children's Privacy

Our services aren't designed for kids under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you're a parent and think your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We might update this policy from time to time - usually when laws change or we add new services. When we make significant changes, we'll post a notice on our website and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

For major changes that affect how we use your data, we'll email you directly (if we have your email) so you're not caught off guard.

Questions About Privacy? Let's Talk

If something in this policy doesn't make sense, or you have concerns about how we're handling your data, don't hesitate to reach out. We're humans, not robots, and we're happy to explain things in plain language.
